The Second Shoe is Dropped

While the big advantage of the Volt is that while it can run on pure electricity, when that runs out it will run on gas or ethanol. But obviously in an ideal world, it would always run electric, and that electricity would be 100% pollution free.


To do that, fast charging stations will be needed, and they should be solar/wind powered. Here's the first one built, in full operation in Hamtramck, Mi (a suburb of Detroit). The "roof" is actually Solar panels...

That's a Volt charging up already...
